For me Spiritual Direction is about being truly present, listening and responding with love and wisdom aware of the Divine Beloved in the other and myself. I am a Sister of Saint Joseph who currently ministers in Spiritual Direction, Supervision and retreat giving. It is a joy for me to be a supervisor and lecturer in the St Francis Spiritual Direction Formation Program sponsored by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane.
In 2023 and 2024 I was privileged to give a retreat to 45 staff of “Mary MacKillop Today” in Timor Leste. My background was in education and, also, ministering as a school pastoral worker in Catholic primary schools where the children often engaged with sandplay and art. Having ministered in the Kimberleys, Western Australia, and in North Queensland, I am concerned about our indigenous Sisters and brothers and their rightful place in country. I have also been involved with asylum seekers and refugees while ministering in a multicultural school, in the south of Brisbane, and continue to hold people, at the edge of society, in my heart.
