I grew up in Ireland and moved to Australia in 2002. I have a strong background in Celtic and also Ignatian Spirituality. I love spending time in the wetlands near where I live, as I find a deep connection to my God in the natural environment. Another ‘spiritual pathway’ for me is music, particularly chants such as those by Keith Duke and more recently Deirdre Ni Chinneide. I am passionate about ongoing spiritual reading, and absolutely love Phillip Newell’s recent book Sacred Earth Sacred Soul! (yes, all very Celtic!) I have been working in Pastoral Care in Health and Aged Care in Australia for over 17 years. I am currently Chaplain Coordinator with Uniting AgeWell. I value regular Spiritual Direction and, for me, making a week’s annual retreat is a ‘vital’ (in the literal sense of the word ‘vitae’, meaning ‘life-giving’) contemplative pause in the year.
